In the music world, it is very important for performers to not only sound their best but also look their best. The students spend many hours perfecting their posture, position, and musical technique. However, all that effort is greatly diminished if some students do not match the others.

A minor pet peeve of mine are black socks that only cover up to the ankle. Socks need to cover the calf as well! The audience may not see uncovered calves when students are standing, but when a student sits, the uncovered calves are immediately noticeable.
